I originally joined Zenith because I wanted to try something new that would make me feel good again after having children. I wanted to feel strong, fit and more confident in myself, but I also needed something realistic that I could commit to as a new mum. The postnatal classes immediately stood out to me because I could bring my baby along, which made getting back into exercise feel much more manageable.
Before joining, I felt like I had a very limited set of tools to help me regain my fitness postpartum. I knew I wanted to get stronger and healthier, but strength training felt intimidating. I didn’t really know how to use the equipment properly or where to begin, and like many people, stepping into a gym environment felt quite daunting at first.
From the beginning, the atmosphere at Zenith made a huge difference. The classes are small, welcoming and supportive, and having babies there too creates such a relaxed environment. The coaches make you feel comfortable straight away and adapt exercises to suit your ability and stage of recovery, so there’s never any pressure to “keep up.” Instead, you feel encouraged to progress at your own pace while still being challenged.
Since joining, the benefits have been incredible both physically and mentally. I genuinely feel in better shape now than I did before having children. My mindset around fitness has completely changed too. I used to focus mostly on weight, but now I care just as much about building muscle, improving my posture and developing better balance and strength for everyday life.
Training has made me feel stronger not only for myself, but also for my children. Everyday tasks feel easier, I have more energy and, perhaps most importantly, I now feel confident training independently. Zenith has given me the knowledge and confidence to maintain my strength and fitness long term, which is something I never had before.
One of my favourite things about the postnatal sessions is the variety. Every week feels different, and we’re always trying new equipment or exercises, which keeps things interesting and helps you discover what you enjoy. It never feels repetitive, and the supportive environment makes it genuinely enjoyable to come back each week.
For anyone thinking about joining, I would say don’t let intimidation hold you back. The coaches really listen to your goals and adapt everything to your ability, while still encouraging you to push yourself if you want to. It’s such a positive way to rebuild confidence and strength postpartum, and the welcoming atmosphere makes all the difference.
Just give it a try — it quickly becomes addictive, and the kids love being part of it too.
